Greetings to all!

I know 2020 has been a very tough year for all of us. COVID has affected us all in so many ways. I am writing to give you an update on your chapter.

The Board of Directors recently decided to cancel our annual Fall Conference in October due to the pandemic. This decision came after National CMSA cancelled their onsite conference and the outcomes of their virtual conference were evaluated. Both the national and local cancellations led to significant losses of revenue and opportunities for networking.

So, where do we go from here? I expect a rebirth with something even better than we had. I believe national CMSA, under the leadership of our new national president, Melanie Prince, will open new avenues for communication and collaboration for chapter members.

Locally, our chapter is continuing to explore how it can best serve our members. We have identified an exciting approach to attracting new nurses and social workers into the case management profession. We anticipate offering exploratory workshops for healthcare professionals who are considering a career as a case manager. We are also exploring how we might reduce local dues and improve networking opportunities.

A recent major accomplishment achieved by both national CMSA and local CICMSA combined efforts, was the adoption of the nursing licensure compact in 37 states including our own. The adoption of the nursing compact by so many states is a real triumph many years in the making – one that demonstrates the value of CMSA’s advocacy in promoting state and federal legislation.

I hope you view CMSA as a professional organization that you value and that values you and encourages you and your enthusiasm for your profession.

As always, please feel free to contact me with any comments, questions, or suggestions!

CICMSA is proud to announce that we will be reducing our local membership dues from $40.00 to $25.00 making your total dues combined with National a total of $195.00.

  • If you have already paid for your membership for the month of August you will be refunded the $15.00 difference once the process has made it through the system.
  • If you have received an August invoice for the amount of $210.00 go ahead and pay the amount and you will be reimbursed for the $15.00 once everything has flowed through the system.
  • Those renewing in September should see the $15.00 reduction when you log in to renew your membership.
